More and more operator oil companies are requiring the employees of their contractors to
successfully complete a SafeLandUSA (1) orientation program and to also carry
on their person an official photo-ID badge (2) indicating they have completed
the SafeLandUSA orientation. Contractor companies can comply with this operator requirement by one
or more of the following strategies:
1 ─ Get Your Employees SafeLandUSA Trained
Many contractors will simply need to get their employees SafeLandUSA trained. You can use our training
provider network to locate a professional training provider in our area. Either click the Find a PEC
Training Provider button below or the Find Training Providers button to the left. If you
cannot find a suitable PEC training provider, just call us at 1-800-892-8179 and ask for the Training Department
(training@pecpremier.com).
All of the training providers listed in our provider network have been certified to teach either
(or both) our PEC Basic Orientation and/or our
PEC Core Compliance programs. These two training
courses were the first in the industry to be accredited by SafeLandUSA (3).
All students are issued a PEC photo-ID badge (2) showing the SafeLandUSA
accreditation after completing either of these two courses.
2 ─ Get Your Instructors Certified to Teach PEC Programs
We can train your in-house instructors, public 3rd-party training provider instructors,
or your community college instructors to teach our SafeLandUSA accredited
courses. We offer Train-the-Trainer programs on both our
PEC Basic Orientation
and our PEC Core
Compliance programs, both of which are SafeLandUSA accredited.
To view the current Train-the-Trainer schedule, click the PEC Train-the-Trainer
Schedule button above. This schedule is updated often as new dates are added. Also,
you can click on one of the other two above buttons for more information on that train-the-trainer
course, including the prerequisites. Then contact us at 1-800-892-8179 and ask for the Training Department
(training@pecpremier.com)
to make arrangements for your instructors. After completing our train-the-trainer courses, your
instructors are then able teach the covered PEC course to your employees (in-house instructors) or for
hire (3rd-Party instructors).
3 ─ Get Your Orientation Program SafeLandUSA Accreditation
PEC/Premier is a SafeLandUSA Accrediting Organization (4) and as such,
we can help you get your orientation program SafeLandUSA accredited if it meets all of the SafeLandUSA components
and requirements. If your company wishes to submit it's training program to us for SafeLandUSA accreditation,
please call us at 1-800-892-8179 and ask for the Training Department
(training@pecpremier.com).
You may use the button below to download the PEC SafeLandUSA accreditation application form.
Note 1 ─ SafeLandUSA has been under
development since 2005 and PEC/Premier has been on the
SafeLandUSA Advisory Committee from the very beginning. SafeLandUSA is loosely patterned after the
enormously popular SafeGulf, except it addresses a
land-based safety orientation program. Additional information on SafeLandUSA can be found on the
SafeLandUSA website at www.safelandusa.org.
Note 2 ─ If any of your employees have taken our
PEC Basic Orientation or our
PEC Core Compliance training programs since 2005
and require a new PEC badge showing the SafeLandUSA logo, they can purchase a replacement badge (which will
include the new logo) by calling our Training Department at 1-800-892-8179. If you looked up the employee's
older PEC number in our on-line database, the employee will show the SafeLandUSA designation. You may
check our on-line database by clicking here (www.peccard.com).
Note 3 ─ Our
PEC Basic Orientation
and PEC Core Compliance
training programs were the first in the industry to be SafeLandUSA accredited. In fact, if you have used
either of these training programs since 2005, your trainees are already SafeLand qualified! This is because
our programs were SafeLandUSA accredited even before SafeLandUSA rolled out. As of December 2008, the training
records of all trainees who attended our qualifying training programs since January 2005 have been updated with the
new SafeLandUSA designation. In fact, our records show that over 58,000 existing PEC students are now
SafeLandUSA qualified!
Note 4 ─ On December 1, 2009 PEC/Premier became the
first organization to go through the
SafeLandUSA
audit process and be accredited as a SafeLandUSA Accrediting Organization.
