Oil Patch Preparation System (OPPS)

Click here to see the OPPS Job Seekers Directory.PEC/Premier Safety Management and the States of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama are working together to provide quality employees to the oil and gas industry with training funded by the Department of Labor.  The Oil Patch Preparation System is an 8-day training and job placement program that can help those with no experience get their foot in the door or help the most seasoned hand find a better path for career advancement.

Funding for training and job placement may be available for individuals that qualify through the Workforce Investment Act.  Once a person has been approved for training, they will spend 8 days aboard the historic Mr. Charlie Drilling Rig in Morgan City, Louisiana and will receive the latest in regulatory compliance and hands-on skills training.  While aboard, students will also enjoy meals and full catering services provided by Universal Sodexho, the largest offshore catering company in the world.

JOB PLACEMENT:

Each graduate of OPPS will receive a graduation packet including certifications in 26 oil and gas industry mandated topics.  Each student will receive a customized resume’ or an update to an existing resume’ with their new qualifications.  PEC/Premier has over 500 Member companies and a database of over 12,000 employers.  Each student will receive assistance in setting up job interviews with companies that are actively hiring and can receive an updated Company Hire List on a monthly basis.  We will work as long as it takes to help find OPPS graduate a job as long as they are willing.
